Hello City Church Family! We are excited about this phase in this unique season as we re-open our building to gather on Sundays. Please know that we are following the guidelines provided by local and state officials. The health and safety of our church family is our top priority in our re-opening. We ask for grace and patience as we seek to navigate these unprecedented times. We will seek to keep you informed as things evolve and change on a regular basis.
Please take time to read this post in its entirety. It is important for each of us to be informed during this process.
Gathering Opportunities are at 10 am on Sundays:
- Online Live Gathering for those who are uncomfortable or unable to attend the live in person gathering (CityChurchDecatur.com, City Church app, City Church Facebook & YouTube channel).
- In-person Live Gathering for those who are comfortable attending.
- On-demand Services will be posted following the live gatherings and may be accessed through the City Church App, Website, Facebook page, or YouTube channel.
For your safety and in accordance with the government guidelines, we will be following social distancing protocol. We are working hard to ensure you are able to experience a touch free environment from the time you enter our parking lot until you leave. We will provide you direction from the moment you arrive until you depart. We are asking you to refrain from hugging or shaking hands. Smiles and waves are great alternatives!
Also for your health and the safety of others, we are recommending everyone wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, we will have a limited amount of masks available, along with hand sanitizer, at sanitation stations located throughout the building. And we will be sanitizing the building both before and after you leave. Thank you in advance for doing your part to help us in this effort.
If you are 65 or older and/or you are uncomfortable gathering in person at this time, we encourage you to attend our online gathering which will continue to take place in the previously mentioned venues.
*The Live Online Gathering is at 10 am on CityChurchDecatur.com, the City Church app, Facebook Live, or YouTube Live. You may also access the online gathering on demand on these platforms as well. The on demand options are normally available Sunday afternoon.
City Kids & City Tikes are gathering. We are limiting the number of children in each environment. If you are uncomfortable with your child attending City Kids and/or City Tikes, you are welcome to bring them into the sanctuary.
It is important to remember if you have been exposed to anyone with a confirmed case of Covid-19 or have experienced any of the common symptoms in the last 48 hours (cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fever, new loss of taste or smell, vomiting, or diarrhea), we encourage you to gather online and refrain from attending our live gathering.
If you have tested positive for Covid-19, please let us know immediately so we can pray for you, support you, and help if needed. There is no reason to feel hesitant or embarrassed to let us know. Also it is important for us to continue to provide a safe environment for those gathering in person so if you have tested positive and have attended one of our in-person gatherings in the previous 10 days, please let us know so we can take the appropriate steps to contact those who may have been exposed.
We are excited to be gathering in person to celebrate Jesus and we want to continue our in person gatherings in a safe manner. We desire for this next phase to equip us for the season to come. It is important for us to fault on the side of caution during this phase. We recognize people have many different opinions when it comes to the pandemic and the suggested safety precautions. We want to emphasize how important unity is during these uncertain times. As followers of Jesus we recognize God is in sovereign control and He can be trusted. This season is a time for us to allow space for grace and to come together.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
